תודה רבה רבה לכם על 100 עוקבים, כמה שאני מעריכה את זה לא אוכל לתאר:)
לאחרונה אני לא מעלה הרבה, אבל אשתדל להמשיך עם הסיפורים.
בינתיים תהנו מסיפור שאי פעם חשבתי להתחיל אבל פשוט הפסקתי אותו,
“What…?” He shot up from his chair, caught off guard. He hadn’t realized how far her condition had worsened. It hadn’t even crossed his mind. Yet, deep down, he knew he should have anticipated this. It was unimaginable that Eve could be okay. But this was why Ziv had fallen for her—the uniqueness about her, the smile that lit up her face, the way it could reach into his very soul. Her lively spirit had breathed life into his own. That look of surprise on her face the first time he kissed her was a moment he cherished.
Two years had slipped by since Eve had fallen ill. Of all her remarkable traits, this affliction seemed to be the one she deemed a flaw. After all, he understood that no one was perfect. He took off running toward Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital, drenched in sweat from head to toe. Despite his wealth and the luxury of a car, he chose to forgo it. This day had been chaotic at work—being the CEO and heir to a prominent technology company meant every moment counted. His father had poured his heart into building the business, and over the years, its success had only multiplied. It was there, amidst the hustle and bustle, that he had first met Eve. She had been his chief secretary, and before her illness, he vividly remembered the way she looked at him. Her determination, mingled with a childlike joy, made her captivating. She stood apart from the rest. She wasn’t intimidated by “the black boss,” as they had once dubbed him. She was his rainbow on stormy days, always seeking to lift his spirits.
As he stepped into room 205, he was struck dumb. Red petals, as vivid as blood, were strewn across the floor, creating a haunting beauty. But then he caught sight of her. Sweaty and dazed, yet when her gaze met his, all else faded away. She graced him with the smile he adored, and for a fleeting moment, he imagined that everything was right in their world, that they were back to being twenty. But reality crashed down; he knew that wasn’t the case. Despite her efforts, he could see the pain lurking behind her smile—the forced facade. She was still hurting, and he couldn’t help but wonder, what if she hadn’t brought Ryan into their lives? Would she have been healthy? Clenching his fists deep in his pockets, he tried to steady himself.
“You came,” she said, her voice brightening. Yet, he couldn’t find his words. “How’s Ryan? Are you looking after him?” she pressed. He faltered, unsure how to respond. Life as a busy executive left little room for nurturing.
“I got him a nanny for the week. I just haven’t had the time to see him.” Her silence felt heavy, and after a moment’s pause, she sighed, her frustration palpable.
“When are you going to understand that he’ll be all you have left soon?” she asked, bitterness lacing her words. At that moment, something within him snapped.
“Don’t talk like that, Eve!” he exclaimed, a mix of anger and hurt flooding his heart. For a moment, he thought he saw a flicker of regret cross her face, but it quickly vanished, replaced by a resolve that he found both infuriating and admirable.
“Someone has to face the truth, Ziv. You live in a world of make-believe. I’m not going to sugarcoat this anymore.”
“I can’t just sit back and watch you waste away like this!” he shouted, his voice breaking. Eve’s expression softened, revealing a glimpse of the woman he loved, shining through like a candle fighting against the darkness.
“And how long do you think I can keep fighting, Ziv? Do you know what it’s like to wake up every day, not knowing if it’ll be your last?” The vulnerability in her voice shattered his bravado. She was right; he couldn’t possibly understand.
And then he just got up and left the room.
